CCU donates relief food in response to the increase cases of Domestic and Gender Based Violence
Updated: Jul 25, 2020
Children Care Uganda donated maize flour to Gulu District Covid -19 task force in response to the increased domestic violence as a result of the tough times brought about by the lockdown.
As a result of the lockdown, many breadwinners lost their jobs and found it difficult to fend for their families. This created a gap that saw a rise in the cases of gender based and domestic violence.
Children Care Uganda understands that fighting the Corona Virus requires a strong immune system that can be boosted through healthy eating. It was on this basis that the non-profit Organization decided to share the little.
Major Santos Okot Lapolo, Resident District Commissioner Gulu, who double as chairperson Gulu district COVID-19 task force on receiving the donation, assured Mimi Odongo, the Co-founder of Children Care Uganda and head of education, that their contribution will reach the rightful categories of peoples as directed by Children Care Uganda.
